The word perfume is derived from the Latin “per fumum”, which means through smoke. Even after the discoveries in the art of making perfumes Arabs still use the traditional methods to make perfume (called attar in Arabic).

Wearing perfumes is an art in itself. One should chose perfumes that suits them, not their friends or families. Perfumes should be applied to the pulse points such as the folds in the crook of your elbow and back of knees, wrist, neck and cleavage. Do not rub your wrist together because it crushes the smell. Spraying the perfume in the air is also very good if you walk straight into the perfume because it helps to diffuse perfume in your body. Do not simply apply to the neck always work up the body as the scent rises.
